Want your students to get the best results and to soar high in life, motivation is the key factor. A student is required to get motivated by his/her elders so that he/she can handle the stress which comes along studies.
Motivating students is very important from the beginning. So as the new year of school begins, mother and father both play an important role for motivating their child. How to motivate a student? Here are some tips for motivating a student. Parents should always convey a positive attitude towards their children. You should always encourage your child to use positive and motivating terms like I will, I can and yes. Positive attitude helps a child to build a confidence and to overcome all the hurdles which he/she has to face in their academic year.
Always remember not to use negative words like never, can’t, won’t, if and may be, by using these words in front of a child will discourage him and he will loose his self-confidence. Try avoiding limited language with them during your discussions with your children.
You can also apply Ben Franklin method for motivating your child. Your family can make a list of traits that you all want to work on for example: honesty, discipline, self-control, responsibility, fairness, sincerity and kindness. You should pick each character each week and should work as a family to improve this trait. After achieving each trait, provide rewards to the family members who proved him/herself the best throughout the week. Continue this method till all the thirteen traits are acquired by your family successfully. Ben Franklin practiced this method week after week for continuous fifty-seven years.
Help your child to manage his/her time efficiently. Parents must sit with their children and should make a time-table according to their studies and activities. A family should have a gathering every weekend so that everyone can share activities which they performed throughout the week.
